Communication Strategies for Political Advocacy in the Amazon
The project Governance and Infrastructure in the Amazon (GIA; GIAMAZON.ORG) is analyzing the actions necessary to exercise political influence and influence the transparency of infrastructure planning. One type of action is to promote collaborative social learning in communities of practice. Communication strategies and techniques are a crucial component of collaborative learning. Through the use of different strategies and techniques we communicate the aspirations and value of our work and, in doing so, we inspire actions and changes in behavior creating a more collective and defined impact. How can we transmit knowledge and communicate more effectively? What are our limitations?
The objective of this dialogue table is to provide a space to reflect on the possibilities of advocacy and opportunities for collaboration. The event will start from the key knowledge and experience of each panelist and will seek to feed the following guiding questions in relation to the evaluation of communication strategies to create knowledge and promote advocacy:
- How can we promote political advocacy? What communication strategies do they contribute to action / advocacy? Do you know of an innovative case?
- How can we connect strategically with other social actors and thus call for collective action? How can we measure the effectiveness of advocacy?
- How can we better collaborate? What should the dialogue be in the future?
